I'm watching that set also on that particular site.  With 5 plus days left for bidding, you'll need pretty deep pockets to win it.  The last one sold for a rediculous price.

The "COLLECTOR'S" have discovered that site & Marx Tin, driving the prices way beyond reality for the nicer trains.

IMO.

No, I'm not bidding on it, just watching.

Thanks for the heads up D,

if your gonna bid, Ill leave it alone.

Not in the business to try and out bid

a forum member.

Popi,

I'm not bidding, just watching to see what some "collector" or re-seller is willing to pay for it.  If you're going to bid on it, have your higest amount set and make your bid the last 15 seconds of the auction.  You might have a chance at it then.

I am not interested in 6", and the guy who I'd ask is not on the computer, and far

away.  It was nicer when all the train collectors were running through the bushes looking for plastic Lionel, and ignored Marx.  "Them days is gone."  A Marx worktrain

set (3/16) just went for $565!! on one auction site, and that with the #999 engine,

found everywhere.  Not sure if 300,000 a year is the total Marx train production,

including 6", 7", and the 3/16, or just the 3/16, but there are a lot of #999's.
