Merry Christmas to you!
I look forward to your Christmas FB posts too.
Hi Skip, thank you for starting this thread! I alway enjoy seeing pictires of your layout. Merry Christmas from the Pacific Northwest!
I took this picture around 4:30 PM on the crosswalk on the intersection of Seneca and 4th Avenue, in Seattle. I only had time for one shot because I was holding up traffic and horns were honking… Yes, the we do get clear skies on occasion in December.
In the distance is the Star on the Macys store. At one time it was the Bon Marche, an iconic Seattle retailer. The Bon was well known for the train layouts that were part of their window displays. On the right, is a side of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel.
Below is a link to the Bon Marche Layout from 1949, which is before my time. However, wthen TCA held their annual convention in Seattle in 1995, a replica of the layout was created.

Very cool pictures of the window displays. Brings back memories here in Spokane. The Bon , Crescent stores always had very beautiful window displays. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Reminds me of when my mom would take me to Macy's in Manhattan to Christmas shop and would leave me at the mountainous Lionel train display and tell me to wait for her there. I was hypnotized and dreamed for 30 min or so. I was 7 years old and we did this for years. Not once did a stranger approach me or bother me. I'm 72 now. Different times then, America the beautiful, America the respectful. Merry Christmas 🎅 https://youtu.be/7XDY31rGJAk?si=H70NMLN6XMpomemh
