Snack time! Late afternoon goodies included bottled water and pretzel mix.  The Passenger Guide covered all of the routes taken for the week. The train will reach Parker, AZ in the dark.  The final part of the excursion will be in my next post.

Saturday, May 19, the headquarters of the Arizona and California RR in Parker AZ was the departure point for 3751.

This 85 year old speedster is impeccably maintained, and the "weathering" provided by road grime seemed perfect.

This is a service stop in Cadiz, CA.  It was a long, slow run over the A&C railroad, but the remainder would be on BNS's Transcon route.

A reminder that we will be on the chase of the Santa Fe along Route 66 is this Corvette.

Arrival at the Barstow station.  The long shadows indicate that we are running out of light.  We would not catch up with the train until it entered Cajon Pass in the dark.  More of my Western adventure will follow in the upcoming weeks.

How about you?  Have you had any successful chases lately?  Enjoy your summer, and post any great shots here.
