Good morning, Wednesday. The Earth says "hello." And a big Hello from Midweek Photos. Time once again to dig through your photos of railroading in the real world. Here are some of mine:
This was a rather interesting weekend for those seeking different types of passenger trains in the Scranton, PA area. The Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society train set has been under repair the past several weeks. By Thursday, the cars were brought to Steamtown in preparation for an excursion to Moscow, PA.
A little after 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 6, the train pulled past the University of Scranton campus. This was a company picnic train for employees of all of the Genessee Valley Transportation railroads.
Some old home signals are still standing along the right of way, even though they no longer work.
Adding a bit to the train is the 1948-built DL&W caboose, owned by the Delaware Lackawanna Railroad.
About a half hour before the arrival of the D-L company special, I caught some steam power in the form of Steamtown's Baldwin 0-6-0 no. 26 running the Scranton Limited trains. The passenger consist is two 1925 built Central of New Jersey suburban day coaches.
This location is her turn-around point, before heading back to the roundhouse.
