Ought to be just the ticket for bringing new blood into O scale! 

Erik seems to have a nose for quality; nice to see someone who cares to offer accurate scale models for the modern guys and gals. 

If only someone could offer accurate RTR O scale track and turnouts to go with those gorgeous MMW offerings.

Having been informed elsewhere what the likely price might be , the question of negotiating 36" radius curves is a moot point, I think...

We may not be part of the universe of buyers but Key and Kohs have no problem finding buyers for high end products.     Given the growing market for more modern equipment I'd suspect MMW will do fine.

Only time will tell how fine they do, both with the execution of the models and the sales.

Oh, I do buy now and again, but it has to be something that actually fits in well with what I model. With SMR gone, very few bother to bring anything in that will prompt opening the wallet.

My impression is that they are all planned offerings.

And at least a couple seem to have been quite well planned.  

For example the Bethgon coal car samples shown at Indy were apparently made in under 8 weeks from sending drawings to the MMW factory.  As well I was impressed by the quality of the SD40-2 samples I saw at March Meet, and those were made in about 6 months according to MMW, being the first project from their own team. 

I'm happy to see new brass modern-era models coming to market for the future of the hobby, whether or not I can afford them. I hope that having invested in their own operation and staff in Korea will pay off for MMW in terms of speed to market and product quality, leading to a succesful business.

I do think that Erik is showing the ability to produce freight cars in a shorter development cycle.  So let's hope enough feedback is given to produce other highly detailed accurate freight cars before potential buyers  do something else with the $$$. 

He's taking suggestions to gauge interest in his future projects. We exchanged a few emails last week to confirm a reservation for an SD40-2 that I made in June. Once this project really starts to move forward I will probably reserve a 2nd.

I told him that I would be interested in a couple of TTZX 73' center beam flats with lumber loads. That project has been tabled for a few years now so the cost to do one will probably be more than $500 per car. I'm still in.
