Hey guys - I just finalized my order of SD45's today with Erik and wondered ( I know some of you can answer this ) if the N+W SD45's in the early blue / gold scheme ever had pilot mounted plows on them ? Another question relating to the N+W units ; did they ever come in the early lettering in gold on a black body ? I've not seen it and Erik hasn't either - just curious . Thanks in advance , Bryan.

out of curiosity what are these selling for? I was unable to find a price listed on their site.
thx
Likely in the mid $2K range or more depending on which model you choose. The T-2's may be a little more based on the opening louvers.
Bryan:
The N&W SD45's were never in the Black w/gold lettering or script herald. The first SD45 was delivered in June of 1966 and the last in December of 1969 all in the blue w/yellow gold lettering and "Hamburger" or "Half Moon" herald which ever you perfer.
The SD45's did not have snowplows. Later they were painted in the Black w/NW lettering, then NORFOLK and WESTERN. In 1982 N&W merged with Southern to form Norfolk Southern Corp. and a few were painted in NS.
Hope this helps.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks - I was hoping the early gold scheme was done on black as well as the blue , but there's my answer. I ordered blue versions . Erik mentioned he would do at least one road number of the blue versions with the added cab window winterization extensions and again I thought if they had a plow it would be a nice addition. Im surprised the N+W didn't use them .
Regards,
Bryan
Bryan: Ordering the N&W blue/half moon logo with winterized windows would not be correct. N&W added the extended window only when they were repainted in the black/NW paint scheme. The N&W SD45 in blue never had them! Therefore Erik will not be doing them.
