I clicked on it, saw it was 26 minutes and said to myself "I'll never watch the whole thing but let me see what it's about.

 

And promptly watched the whole thing.

 

Not being a "Real Trains" person, I was very interested in the content. I thought the acted parts were a bit rigid but reminiscent of the times. Seeing all that was done manually by scores of people now done by computer was a pretty stark reminder of why we don't have more jobs.

 

The opening scene where the kid hears the train whistle and jumps on his bike to his railfan spot showed a time we'll never see again. As kids in the 50's and 60's we'd ride the wheels off our bikes. Today, I doubt any parent would let their child off their own street unattended.

 

And not without a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads.

 

Different world, that's for sure.
