Are these cars designed to go with the S3 #260 Hiawatha 6-84067 locomotive from the 2017 Vol 2 catalog.

When Lionel went through the catalog on Facebook, I believe they said they were intended to go along with MR E6 AA set in 2017 volume 2 catalog. Alough, they did mention you could run them with the S3 #260 or the other S3's. Maybe a good match for that #260 engine since it as Fanasty paint scheme but for the other S3's road numbers they would not be protypical if you are looking for a protypical matchup. For the first run of S3's, Lionel offered the excursion set of MR passanger cars that went with the #261. There were some quality issues with those.
All fantasy, so yes, you can match them up if you have the S3 on order already. But you can run them with any Hiawatha or Milwaukee Road orange and maroon locomotives.
Note: those passenger cars should not be confused with the Olympian Hiawatha, which was introduced long after those heavyweight cars were still in primary use.

Thanks everyone. The photos in the catalog are so off color it's hard to tell. I wish Lionel would be more specific as to what items go together.
