The rear of the Volvo on the Catwalk at the Tonkin site shows careful attention to detail. I was not able to locate the Bendix air dryer under the frame, but would imagine everything is there.

I am not current on today's rigs having been retired for so long but these models... they are good.

One more quibble. A western division of this Company will probably have a third axle under trailer and snow chains under the trailer for the full set. Again, it's a very minor useless fact that I am full of.

Here's the Volvo VNL780 listed on Walther's site:

Which just proves, sadly, that even the "name brand" suppliers, whom we rely on for scale fidelity, don't take the concept seriously. 1:53 trucks will look odd next to 1:43 or even 1:48 autos.
They are very detailed with detailed engines and hoods that open cab roofs come off to show a detailed bunker and cab details.
Yes they are 1/53 look good in background buildings; warehouse scenes. You could have the trains at front siding to unload and trucks lined up at docks behind.

If you hunt around a bit you will find many different varities.
At the NMRA convention in Sacremento last summer there was a wide variety of trucks that one California company had for sale at very good prices. Flat beds and drop beds with loads, gravel trailers tankers etc, etc.
I have picked up a number from different places and shows and just use them on a shelf display for now.
