Modern Stockyard (6-19828) + Fastrack

Hello. I just acquired a pristine C&NW stockyard & cattle car (6-19828), and am wondering if any of you can provide a summary of how to wire and run it on a Fastrack layout. The instructions included in the box are for tubular track. I would prefer NOT to have to use Fastrack transition pieces to tubular if that can be avoided. I've also read that this device is voltage sensitive, so I would be thankful if anyone could shared their learned experiences. Much thanks!
