i made an impulse buy today of an LTI chessie t-1. it is brand new never out of the box. i got it really really cheap i just couldn't pass it up. i am considering having modern railsounds and tmcc put into it, as i dont believe this engine is considered a real collectable. is this something that can be done or should i just accept it for what it is?

It you contact Ken at http://electricrr.com/ he can set you up with what you need. I have done a PW Trainmaster upgrade to tmcc and it work pretty well with AC Motors
And if you want cruise control, you can send it to Frank Timko (I think that's close?) for a DC motor conversion. Then you can put an ERR cruise commander into it and have good speed control. If you don't want to do that, you can just put an ERR "AC Commander" into it and that will give you TMCC control. You can add an ERR "Railsounds Commander" to that to get the sounds. I upgraded a Williams hudson and it's not too bad of an installation to do at all.
