I have a friends Santa Fe set of engines with some sort of stuff on the bodies. I am thinking it might be mold, and I am sure the Forum has addressed this before. Can someone send me to the proper sight or just plain help in this current time frame? I am sending a couple of pictures for your assessment of the units. Thanks.

Try washing the shells removed from the frame in VERY MILD dish soap and warm water. No hard brushing just very softly with a 1 inch disposable brush. Very gently and most of it should wash off.
I agree with Rick. Use Dawn dish soap and a make up brush from a $ store.

If it's really mold, a mild solution of bleach would probably be the most effective. However, I like the idea of starting with dish washing liquid, it's less likely to cause a problem with the paint.
