Guys,

It doesn't require some soul searching heavy duty thinking here to realize that what we've got together is an association of caring individuals here! Each individual capable, in his or her own way, of doing something great whether it be collecting, running, or encouraging each other to be the best we can be by donating some of our time to children and encourage them through our stewardship and guidance into being productive adults active in someway in the train hobby or profession.

My thanks to the staff of OGR for individually and as a group encouraging fruitful conversation and discussion.

My thanks to all who choose to comment here in advance!

Any additional thoughts fellas and gals?

This would be a good time to remind everyone here that there is always an open invitation to visit the San Diego 3-Railers layout in the San Diego Model Railroad museum.  Stop by anytime you are in San Diego Ca, but if you stop by on any Tuesday, except the first Tuesday of the month and ask for bigdodge I will let you inside for a more in-depth tour.

Well said. This forum has extended way beyond the hobby.

  • We share our joy and our pain. The down side is that you find people you have never met and likely will never meet impact your life at a personal level as you affect theirs.
  • We learn from each other and teach each other, expanding the knowledge base for the future. It also keeps the "Sacred Secrets of O Scale/O Gauge" from dying with us.
  • The manufacturers get a better pulse of what we're looking for, from new product offerings, to product improvements. This makes the hobby materials better for everyone.

Thanks so much to all of you.  I have found since I came aboard as part of the direct OGR team that all of them are railroaders in one form or another....very unique in that we have a special interest in not only the prototype but the hobby as well.  We do our best to satisfy both the needs and interest of our membership and at the same time have a place that our advertisers and sponsors can offer their products so that we all can enjoy the hobby even more.  Without our subscribers, members, and advertisers, we would not be here so let me extend our thank you to all of you!!

The OGR Forum is a vehicle that provides all of us the opportunity to share our interest, our thoughts, our goals in this hobby, to look for help to resolve a service issue, or the best place to find the unusual train item. In short, it is the best thing going in our hobby.

Many thanks to the good folks at OGR.

Very kind words, Mike. Thank you very much.

But you should all pat yourselves on the back a couple of times! I say that because it is YOU FOLKS who come here and share your knowledge of the hobby, life and a lot of other things, that make this forum the biggest and best place on the internet to talk about O gauge trains.

We've got a great group of people here!

Guys,

Thanks for posting, I didn't know so many of you felt the same way. Kind of an added benefit of comeraderie, ain't it?

Personally, if I hadn't connected with you online my interest would have trailed off and my trains would have gone back in the closet. The Staten Island Society of Model Railroaders wasn't holding my interest that much.

That and the fact that there is only 1 store in Staten Island where there used to be 4 stores.

Yes I know about Trainworld in Brooklyn.

Good job, everybody, the Hobos in my 5 camps are in your debt!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me, and at the same time allowing me to share my thoughts with all of you.
