Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Population just under 1 million is planning to move all rail lines outside of the city. That'll be a job!

Local fact: that truss bridge in the back is called the Arlington St.Bridge.

it was originally supposed to span the Blue Nile in Sudan but the deal fell through and we got it for a bargain a long long time ago. 1912 to be exact, it was built in the UK and shipped over.

About that bridge in the background I was just wondering something ...this is a long shot because Canada is huge.

I was watching on Youtube a old Canadian TV show called "Cannonball" its about a couple of truck drivers.

There is a scene in a rail yard and there standing on a bridge looking down at the rail yard...I couldnt help but wonder if its the same bridge and yard in the OPs picture ?

Go to 21:40 in the video to see the scene...

Could very well be, the landscape is flat enough that's for sure. Winnipeg is in the center of Canada, about 3 hours north of Fargo, ND and about 60 miles north of the US/Canada border. Being in the center of the country we have quite the large rail yards.
