Jeff,
Please post a picture of your Tin Plate 249E P3 Engine & Tender, I was under the impression there was no such Engine & Tender produced by MTH, if there is I sure want to see a picture of it, and I will be looking to purchase one for my Tin Plate Christmas layout.

There's a few on the MTH website Dave: http://mthtrains.com/search/249e
Guns,
Thanks John, I knew about the Red Conventional & P2 Christmas Tin Plate 249E but not the P3 Christmas Train, maybe Jeff should have purchased a P2, I have never had any problems with my P2 Tin Plate Trains. I may have to try to pick up a P2 Blue Comet 249E Passenger Train, they are serious cool! I missed out on the P2 249E Christmas Train set last year, they were all sold out.
Jeff,
You may just want to send your 249E P3 to Guns or GGG unless your engine is still under warranty! They may even be certified to do MTH Warranty work also. MartyF maybe able to due MTH Warranty work it also. One word of caution when you ship it, definitely use Fedex.
