Can anybody tell me what year MTH added people to the cars and updated there diaphragms?

I believe it was when the set numbers changed from the four digit number after the 20- to the five digit number after the 20-.
Looking through my notes I believe 2005 volume 1 was the first time figures were included

Do you think they updated the Diaphragms at the same time?
The last MTH set I purchased was a Mopac set 20-65007 around 2002 and it did not have figures or any upgrades. Thanks for the help.
I have a set from 2005 with figures and upgraded diaphrams. It is numbered 20-xxxx.
FWIW I have upgraded my older cars that came with with interiors only by adding the figures and anti rattle bars. My set from 2005 also had the zinc rot trucks. Another set from 2006 seems to be OK now.

I had some from around 2001 that did not have figures until I added them.

I have an MTH Madison passenger car 3-axle truck with broken casting truck parts. Are replacement parts or trucks available from MTH?
I was told they will replace them but you have to call and get an RMA and send in your broken trucks. I have started a pile and will send mine when I have a few more broken ones.
