I hope I'm not overthinking this but here goes. I previously used MTH Scaletrax as my track system, and whenever I had a siding or end point in the track system, i.e. yards ends, I installed one of the MTH lighted bumpers. Now, with the Gargraves track, they do not have lighted bumpers, so, my question is: Do I have to wire the ends in any particular manner in order to not affect the DCS signal or to get the best possible DCS signal?

If you want to keep the same scheme, just wire one of the Deat's Filters to the ends of the tracks.

Lionel offers these Lighted Bumpers which should fit Gargraves track. They are made for Lionel tubular track, but I am using them with Atlas track and they fit just fine. They are diecast also, very heavy. The filters from Susan Deats site as GRJ mentioned will probably be a bit cheaper I would expect, and may even work better than the lighted bumpers.
I also use the #260 Lionel lighted bumpers on sidings.
Using a rev L TIU, you might not need bulbs or filters on a larger layout. My layout was the first to use the bulbs and now with the rev L, none are needed.
Marty, how do I tell if my DCS TIU is "Rev L" or not? I probably bought it in 2011. What is the difference any way? I have a 144' over & under and have no terminal "magic bulbs" anywhere. Works fine.

Look on the bottom for the label. It'll tell you what rev it is unless it's one of the original versions, that's not likely.
