MTH E series diesels question

They dont have 3-2 trucks. Still the old style blind inner axle truck blocks.

I can post a picture of the truck when I get in tomorrow. 

I've been thinking about a set in CNW, but they haven't done them with scale wheels, fixed pilots, and 3/2 capability. Was thinking about converting the B-unit to a Crandall Cab.

Blind inner axle trucks when it was Weaver tooling. Note the non-geared third axle. Two sets of axles are powered, Flanged set has traction tires.  Main MTH modification was a more detailed pilot.

Thanks Mike. That explains a lot. Didn't know they were still using the Weaver tooling for the trucks. That particular configuration doesn't seem to lend itself to swapping for another hi-rail truck block, let alone a 3/2 block.

The only MTH engines I have had to work on the mechanics of the trucks because of issues have been the E bodies.  G

yeah, if they came in scale wheels I'd be all over them too.
