I have to agree with you. The warm white LEDs look much better. MTH is in a cost control mode. The folks that assemble the new trains cannot jump back and fourth from one type of light to the other during assembly. Besides, MTH more than likely had to purchase an entire production run just to make the lights affordable. To us it's only a matter of a few cents. To MTH it's a matter of stopping production using one type of LED just to change over. That would be a matter of dollars. It's much easier for us to call Midge and order the warm white LEDs. I do not have the part number on hand. I did a repair on the MTH Police Station. Part of the repair included changing the warm white LEDs MTH used to the bright white.
I use whe warm LED"bulbs" in all of my prewar locomotives & passenger cars. I do use the bright white LED"bulbs" in all of my buildings and streetlights (200+).
