MTH posted their new catalog. To my surprise they listed the SD45s with scale wheels. I'd like to get one on my roster, and maybe try a John S conversion of a SW1500 soon.

Yeah I wouldn't mind either a BN or the SP daylight scheme. Very nice....then there are those NS heritage units....errr I need mo' $$$$.....
I'll definitely order the daylight 4449 and the NS NYC SD70. They will be my first steam and my first SD70 and I absolutely love both of those units so the timing is perfect.
Funny how MTH and Lionel again are releasing the same or "similar" versions of railroad equipment?

I love running the MTH ACes. They have an air release sound when accelerating that just sounds plain cool, pulling a large train up to track speed. The horn sound always drove me a little nuts. I finally got used to it. I really like the idea of a NYC ACe. Now it's more realistic with the NS Heritage program.
Nothing really catches my eye,
Although I am more into vintage tinplate, my curiosity and hope that something interesting and new will show up, always keeps me looking at catalogs. A habit since childhood. Either I have been in the hobby too long or I am suffering from Deja Vu as the it seems the same short list of products keep being revolving around like a merry go round, as fine a product as they probably all are. The quality is there... but old choices predominate. Too many familiar faces. How many times does a customer buy the same engine over and over again, or for that matter, buy new when you can get the same thing used for cheaper? I understand playing it safe but this is a bit silly. How about a new Whitcomb? Some decent interurbans or steeple cabs (Class C or D) to run freights on Superstreets? How about some of the B&O experimental steam engines? How about a decent car float? How about a light rail vehicle? How about a rail grinder? The list seems endless. I am not going to lose any sleep over this but the list seems stalemated.
The scale wheel, fixed pilot MTH SD45 had coupler height mounting issues. A Kadee coupler ended up to low and removing material from the pilot is no easy task.
I'm still waiting for a 2-6-2 Praire or a light USRA 2-10-2. Bring the SD7 up to todays standards. Electroliner had many good suggestions.
A lot of stuff I want but I might be lucky to order one thing. Will have to decide between the CSX es44 with the new [..CSX..] logo or the Conrail and N&W Heritage Units. Plus the CSX coal porter set looks great! Man I really wish school didnt steal all my money, I would rather have an SP GS-4 Daylight than a crap load of Calc III homework!
Oh man and the Ohio Central Geep!!!!!!
In for a pair of ATSF GP35's. Thinking about a European steam passenger train.
Wonder why the Genesis diesels aren't offered in a scale wheels version? Although I see they are 3/2 compatible.

I wish there was a CSX version. I think this will fit in nicely with my BNSF intermodal train. If the pilots need work, I've been there many times. Got to be better than converting a three rail.
I've been thinking that maybe a couple of SF GPs would be cool. I always go for the big six axled and overlook the obvious

Ah sugar, I didn't even catch that. My other Genesis is still waiting for pilot conversion.
