My first sd70ace, beautiful model. I found a couple of "things" though, there where two spots where the painting was poorly applied, it was fixable and by no means a deal breaker. Secondly, one of the LED for the number boards had a different "tone" it was blueish and not warm yellow like the rest of the led's in the model (annoying but fixable). I switched the air hoses for a Atlas O GP35 set and added a brake line and kadees.I will decorate the interior later on. I can't wait to make a lash-up with the NYC heritage.

Would love to see and hear it run. I have the Railking Imperial SD70Ace.
you can see it on my you tube at SRCJO1481.
I just got 2 of these and have to say they are incredible!! Nobody in the O scale market has anything close to these at this price point. MTH has gone a long ways in this model- pure beauty for sure. They look and sound awesome. Nice pic!!
Wow, after looking at your pic again those air hoses look really nice!! Way to go-
Yes, great job again!
I like the detailing you do. Do you paint the coupler?? (KD?) You add the air line with chain too?
Did you get the NS Dash9 model with PS3?? I was just looking for what's available. Seems like the NS sells out.
Yeah that is a nice engine...love what you added there. The detail makes it pop for sure.
Thanks guys! Joe, yes the air hose is Berkshire valley part 314 and the chain is precision scale part 48472. The kadee 743 short I weathered with powders.
Jeff, my model has really dim ditch lights. Even compared to other ps3 engines. Yours too?

The consensus seems to be growing that Lionel's got a real winner on their hands!
Rusty
Rusty, I'm assuming you meant to say MTH... Wow, those close ups look awesome. As for the ditch lights, they do seem less bright, but they are a cooler white as well. I am starting to really like the difference. They don't come on until the engine is in motion which is really cool...
That loco looks pretty sweet, nice detailing! That turnout looks pretty good too. Thanks for posting.

Are the MU hoses the same part number as the air hoses with different ends? thanks- again, those look awesome!
I like it. Really, I'm not gonna crack before too long.

Don't worry. The Heritage Units are Isle of Denial Approved. With a little strategically placed paint, it goes from Heritage unit to continued lineage unit.
LOL...

Handsome ain't it. I almost give up all steam until I found a loop hole, modern era steam programs...
anyone care to start wagering bets SD70ACe or ES44AC

Forgot to mention. Like the idea of using the Atlas hoses. I have a few locomotives that could use that treatment.
Thanks for the nice comments guys!
Jeff the MU are the rear right and left GP-35 Atlas. You can buy them in the Locomotive spare parts section on their website. The part numbers are 110053 and 110054. The air hose is Berkshire valley part 314, I get it from pdhobbyshop. Nice shot Pitogo!
After seeing this model in the review by OST, I had to come back here and look at yours again!
