I'll second this! I purchased one the week they were announced and have been using it for years. Just remember to charge your models over night, i.e. at least 12 hours.

The battery won't over charge outside the engine. I've done it a bunch of times. The newer AA and AAA batteries will plug right into the charger without an adapter. The round jack is for the older 9 volt batteries. I took an old battery harness out of an engine I did an upgrade to  and just used that to charge the 9volts (8.4) volt out of the engine.

It is way better then track charging the battery in an engine. Don't have to worry about power surges or brown outs sending your engine racing down the track at 75 scale MPH.

Another plus is that it won't tie up one of your tracks for charging the engine's battery.

I live in southeast Florida and our electric dips in voltage during thunderstorms a lot and also when a storm is in a nearby city, so the wall charger is a must have for me.
