MTH Rail King Madison cars bouncing over Lionel Fastrack switches and crossings

My layout consists of Lionel Fastrack, switches, cross over, and grade crossing. When I run a four car set of MTH Rail King, NYC Madison cars (new to me - never run before), the cars bounce badly when going over the switches, cross over and grade crossing, even derailed one time on a switch. (Example: MTH Observation Car #30-6213) Has anyone experienced this? is there a fix?
