I have the Brill trolley with proto sound 2.0 and tried to program it to run in auto mode using the bell and whistle buttons on the transformer with no luck. Can I use the MTH remote commander to program this trolly? I dont have DCS and hate to spend $300 just to get the trolly to work but I can get the commander for $50. The trolly is the only proto sound item I have and would really like to have it automatically run on a straight line, stop and return. Thanks.

No, you cannot. The transit station stops are not like passenger station or freight yard sounds. They work completely differently.
What transformer are you trying to use to program the trolly?
Barry, Its a lionel cw-80. I also have available a MRC pure power that I could try.
The CW-80 is probably at the root of your troubles. I don't know how precise the Pure Power's bell/whistle buttons are (in terms of outputting their respective DC bursts), but it's worth a shot.

That would be a good idea.
i use the mrc pure power single and pure power dual to program all the station stops on my mth subway sets...it can be done easily with these but you need to develop a rhythm between the two buttons...if you tap the horn button too long the horn will sound and will not enter the program mode. it is a light quick first tap...look at the trolley when you do this...if you get the first tap right the interior light will flicker...then two seconds tap-tap
How about a mth z 500, I may be able to get one of these.

That should work fine.
