I have an MTH trolley that I purchased less than year ago from Train World. The motor recently stopped working. I went to MTH's website to look at their warranty return procedure but am unclear on exactly what I need to do to start the return. I went to their site, created an account and registered the trolley but what am I supposed to do next, e-mail them? I would appreciate any tips? Thanks.

First, check the date of manufacture on the MTH website, because unless their policy has recently changed, that is when the "warranty clock" starts ticking. It is not the date you purchased it.
If you are less than a year from the date of manufacture, contact the selling dealer for warranty support.

Being a bump and go trolley are you sure you checked and pressed on each bumper end to ensure the direction switch was fully switched???
Parts 18, 23, and 24 all work together to switch the direction to the motor.

Warranty Terms On Products Produced After June 1, 2021
Items shipped after May 31, 2021, will carry a one-year warranty from the date of manufacture for the MTH Authorized Retailer who sold the product. Any defective items should be returned to the dealer where purchased. If the dealer has trained service techs, they can offer to repair the locomotive (MTH will supply warranty parts as needed free of charge. If parts are not available a refund will be given to the dealer). MTH will no longer provide repair service on any products at its corporate headquarters. If an item is defective and cannot be repaired,it needs to be returned to the original purchasing dealer and the end-user can obtain a refund from the retailer. The original purchasing dealer will then return the item to MTH for credit.
I was trying to illustrate a point of of knowing the CURRENT warranty policies and procedures.
Trying to register for a return to MTH is just as bad as sending an old warranty card to Michigan.
Stop trying to figure out the Lionel thing- that was meant to show the irony of that mistake.
That long winded post did nothing to help the op with his issue.
At this point. Since the item was purchased at Trainworld. They have good name around here. It might be worth contacting them as a place to start.

Agreed; the OP should first contact the selling dealer (assuming the product is still under warranty) for warranty support. If the dealer refers him back to MTH for repair, as was the case with me a few months ago with a different dealer, that's another story. I learned pretty quickly that "MTH will no longer provide repair service on any products at its corporate headquarters." is not a hard-and-fast rule.
