i was running trains last night when suddenly my Z4000 Just quit. The power light turned off and obviously the trains stopped. I checked to make sure the powere cord was connected and it was
i even tried plugging the power cord into another outlet
again today I tried turning the Z 4000 and it does not powere up.
Anyone else ever ever have this problem?

i forgot to mention that I did try the transformers on/off switch many times.... Transformer does not power up.
try plugging in a outlet thats on a different breaker /fuse . or confirm the outlet you use has power.i have never heard of a z-4000 just plain stop working-jim

Thanks Jim. all of the other plug in electrics work onnthis outlet... So the power is there
Check to see if the breakers on the left side (as you face the unit) are popped. If so, reset them. Joe
Have you checked the 10 and 14 volt accessory outputs? They come straight off the transformer, with only the circuit breaker in line-- If those are working, it could be the internal DC supply for the electronics has died-- how old is the Z?
