Multi colored LED lights | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi all I started this thread in the Hi-Rail forum, but thought I should move it here. I got a string of multi colored LED lights and wanted to see if they were something I could use on my future layout. Thanks to Gunrunner John and RSJB18 Bob I got the lights working.

They are red, blue, and green. The funny part is that if I connect them all together and put power to them I get a bright white! Which is good for me, cause I don't know what I would do with the other colors. Here are some poor pictures of what I came up with, next will be to see if I can put them to a DPDT switch to change colors.

I am open to ideas, as I was thinking I could use them for lights in buildings.

Here is a link that explains the primary additive colors of lights. Your Leds are very close to Blue (Cyan), Red (Magenta), and Yellow (Yellow).

What you have is three LED chips, so mixing all the colors gets you white.

I'd save those for a color application and just buy the LED reel with white LED's, easier to deal with, and much more power efficient.
