I would buy a Hudson... but not if it needs 072! Thoughts? Thanks.

I would say the 4-8-4 is the typo. As a comparison I checked MTH's recent Hudson listings. Although the 6-axle tender versions are listed as O-42, the PT tender versions are listed at O-72 minimum curves.
Ryan and Dave recommended 072 for both Hudsons. Definitely required for the PT tender versions. Even with the standard tender, the kinematic drawbar may derail “some cars” if used on 054 according to them.
The 4-8-4 is 072 per their web show.
Yes. They said it was a typo on the catalog preview show.

I'm surprised the kinematic drawbar has any effect on the cars coupled to the tender since thats the connection between the loco and tender.
Unless the rear coupler is a kinematic design.
On a side note. I recall video of a forum member running the first run MR S3 with the first kinematic drawbar on 0-42.
The loco did it. Its no wonder that the rods were scraping the paint off of the counterweights on the wheels.

At one point they said it had a kinematic coupler. But, later when discussing the minimum curve rating, they said kinematic drawbar. I’m not sure I understand the concern even after watching their explanation. I have 072 loops with a couple small 063 sections. I’m trying to figure out if I can swing it.
