Please do not post political responses here! I'm re-sharing my dream last night as the original York 2021 thread was (understandably) closed for that reason.

I had a York nightmare last night. True, as POTUS would say "No joke!"

I dreamt that I got there late and couldn't find a parking spot. Once there, most of the vendors were women selling hand knitted sweaters, scarves, etc., beanie babies, trinkets and jewelry. there were also men selling the typical flea market cheap imported tools and housewares.

After leaving the parking lot became miles large, with all kinds of strange entrances and exits. My friends were mad at me because I couldn't find my car - even though we were driving it around looking for it!

Anyone else have train related dreams?

Your dream is based on total reality. In the olden days, when York had attendance of 18,000+, the parking areas were packed even by 9:00 am on Friday. I typically park in the large field south of the Orange hall and always try to find a landmark to more easily find my car at the end of the day. Despite the rules, York always has women (and men) selling "stuff" that are unrelated to trains.  And there are a few dealers at York that sell cheap imported tools that are no longer so cheap.

My recurring train nightmare is a flooded basement or leaky pipes.

My York nightmare is realizing that I left my badge at home when I'm halfway through my 500+ mile drive.

That happened to a buddy of mine 4 years ago.   Lucky for him, I always registered my wife and son so I had badges in their names.  My buddy spent a few days walking around the meet as my son.

Train related dreams??  Yes sir!!

Occasionally I have a dream I have a really big layout that everything works well.  It is always a different layout in a different location.

I have also dreamt I go to a certain location, I'll call it a club, but I don't think there has ever been a layout.  I have 'bought' a number of nice engines at those get togethers however.  I wish they were real!

my train related dreams usaully revolve around what is gonna be in the next catalog

i have a lot of dreams about owning a ton of lionchief plus or plus 2.0 locomotives

2 years before the christmas light express , and star trek set were even in the catalog i dreamt that i owned similar sets and all the add on cars

i don't know if those dreams are supposed to be a sign although in the dreams i wasn't living in greenville nc with my god parents but instead i was staying in a place called Allegheny City with an extremely pretty and very wealthy female railroad tycoon named Fenix Starr

I remember those days. It was a real hike to make a trip to your car from the Halls back then. One time I had to park by the RVs on the other side of the track. What I use to do was the first time I went to my car I would move it and try to get a closer parking spot. That always saved me a lot of time for the rest of the day. Lately, most of the time it hasn't been difficult getting a good spot from the get go.

John, (OP) I can't recall ever having dreams about trains be it prototype or model but your dream is strange just like most of mine.

Every year I go to Chryslers At Carlisle in Carlisle, PA. In 2019 they set a record of 2,800+ for the amount of cars and of course last year the number went down but they broke the record again in 2021 with 2,900+cars even though folks from Canada weren't allowed to cross the border. I do realize it isn't a prefect apples to apples comparison but the thought process was a lot of folks were tired of staying home and wanted to get out so I am wondering if we will an increase in attendance for the first York whether it is October or next April? I know we won't hit those old numbers of 18,000 but I am hoping that we will see a noticeable increase over the last few meets.
