All, my MTH RailKing C628 speaker is very garbled. I've replaced the battery and charged it, still garbled. I think the speaker is bad and would like to replace it. I've searched the wisdom of the forum and see that these speakers are most difficult to find. Would anybody have a spare, or one recovered from a bad engine, or an idea for a suitable replacement?

On the contrary, they're not that hard to find at all.
MTH typically has the improved, replacement speakers in stock. If you have a lot of 5 volt PS2 engines, buy a bunch of speakers. Eventually, most of the 5 volt speakers will deteriorate.
Elmer, do what Barry stated. The old speakers go nasty. I usually do a few each week. The new MTH replacement works very well and they are cheap to buy. I pry the magnet off the old ones and use them to hold papers on my workshop (metal) door.

Does the C628 take the standard speaker or the smaller diameter one? If it is the standard size, no problem. If it takes the smaller one or the pancake one, could possibly be tough.
