I am new to the hobby 2 years +/-, but have wanted a train for , well a lot of years, I have a Vision Line Hudson and an Atlas Trainman GP 15 (TMCC). I need sone help on a layout. I currently run the Hudson on one loop and the Atlas GP 15  on another both controlled by  Legacy , I also have 2 starter sets on 2 more loops.  All I do now is run 4 ovals. My layout is  12 x 8 ( 3 pieces of plywood).  I use Legacy to run the Hudson and GP 15 and the 2 starter sets are on Lionel Transformers, one per loop.  I have been reading this blog for a couple of weeks and realize I know ZIP about trains but I have a lot of fun watching 4 trains go round and round but would like to do somethine different.

I had no clue that there were anything other than starter sets until I visited a LHS in Pensacola Fl last year (Trains by Johnson) and was captivatied by there exhibits

I don't have any skills in layouts, wiring etc.,(I have watched the Lionel Video's) would appericate some ideals,I did at one time have an elevated reversing loop , I had to be real cautious when running a train on the down side because it would go too fast , I used the Lionel elevated trestles for this

You might get ahold of some of the many excellent publications available on setting up and operating Lionel/O gauge layouts. A train club is a good place to pick up information also (unfortunately it's a looong way from Rockwall to Grapevine). Try to catch the Plano train show in January - there are several O gauge groups there that you might consider tapping into as well. You might check out Discount Trains in Addison and see what publications they have in stock. They're primarily HO, but carry a little O, and have more train publications in stock than anyone else right now in the Dallas area.
