Hi all,

Does anyone know what the track layout for Lionel Fastrack needs to be to be able to fit into MTH's 2-Stall Engine Shed correctly? This is the more recent one, item no. 30-90425.

Thanks!

I wouldn't make it a science project. Put it on the layout-eyeball it up and run some tracks into it. I would suppose a Y and two tracks straight in. I think that's about as close together as you will get em.You could widen by adding to each "through" branch. Nick

I don't use SCARM so I am not totally sure if this is a better fix.  As you come off an 072 switch, I don't like those 036 curves which might be difficult for longer wheelbase locomotives.  Instead, would it work using only the switch, the two fitter pieces and two 1/2 072 curves?  I do have RR4 and it looks just about right.

I don't have the room or the wallet for most locomotives of that size, so that's not a huge concern to me. However, your solution also works, so I will probably use that instead. After comparing the two, the O-36 does look a bit awkward. Thanks!

imageI’ve got both of the MTH engine sheds. Don’t bother putting Fastrack through/under the shed. The floor of the shed is made to fit MTH Real Track. The roadbed is narrower on the MTH track. The only way it would work with Fastrack would require shaping and fitting the track to the underside of the shed. The shed also works with tubular track.

In response to that statement, I've already put Fastrack through the shed multiple times. There are a few plastic pieces on the bottom of the shed to unscrew and the Fastrack will slide in easily. Perhaps you have the older shed that did not have this feature, product no. 30-9030.
