I have a Railking N&W (not the cheap one} "J" that had a tender truck damanged in shipping. It has been at MTH repair shop in Mass. for over 6 months. The repair shop keeps saying that MTH has yet to find a replacement truck even after he request one on each call. I said it does not matter any more for a exact replacement truck, but any Railking tender track that will fit my tender so I can at least get my "J" back and enjoy it, mismatched truck or not. You would think with all the Railking steamers made over the years, at least one of those trucks would fit my tender. Anyone have a damaged tender around ir a idea to fix my tender?

Thanks for your help'

I a similar situation with a bought-used Railking loco that had a truck on the tender that kept dropping out an axle. I simply found another MTH tender with very similar trucks (they were different, but not by much) at a swap meet and changed both trucks from that to my broken tender, so that it had a good, balanced look.  I think it cost me $30 or so . . . The trick might have worked with a non-MTH tender, say a Lionel tender's trucks, or even if I bought a new set of Atlas trucks at my LHS, but I figured MTH trucks might fasten on better because they probably all fasten with the same method, bolts, etc.  That was the case - they slipped right on.  They were easy to replace . . . .
