I want to run an MTH GP38-2 non-powered unit in the middle of two MTH GP38-2 powered units. I have not purchased the non-powered unit yet. The description on the retailers website says that the headlight and number boards light up. How can I to turn the headlight off so I can run it in the middle of the two powered units? I know I can unplug the bulb, but do the MTH non-powered units have a switch to turn the lights off?

On the GP38-2, the light switch will either be under the Dynamic Brake blister (or that would-be section on a non-DB model) or underneath the frame by the front truck. Can't remember as I don't have my GP38's handy. That said, operationally it's good to place it between two powered units as it puts remote coupling/uncoupling at both ends of the MU set. The non-powered units are heavy so they should not be placed at the end of a train as a pusher -- use the trailing unit in an MU set for that job. In the video below, three of the five locomotives are powered -- two up front and one at the rear. The non-powered units the middle one up front and the forward pusher unit.
