Lionel sells replacements: Lionel Percy Parts
I don't have either engine. However is should be easy to just replace either the entire roller assembly or if you want to have a little fun then just the rollers in the assembly.
It should not be hard to do either. It looks like it is $7.50 to replace the entire collector assembly or if you can get them less than $2.00 to replace the two rollers. For $7.50 I would probably just buy the entire unit.
RickO,
You are "JOHNNY" on the Spot! Thanks so much!
Best regards,
Fred

The James and Percy use the Same Roller Pickup Assembly, Right?

One thing to keep in mind is that these are the types of parts you can pick up at a swap meet if you know what to look for. I've seen broken Thomas and friends locos for as little as $4. Most have a lot of good working parts including rollers - some of the broken ones got their bodies and such kabashed before they ran much and probably the rollers are nearly new.
THANKS RickO & John
I don't have the Two Engines here to look at. They are out at our CLUB Layout, otherwise I could have figured it out (22Mile drive).
Thanks again,
Lee,
Thank you as well. We have the EXPO Train Show coming here in a couple of weeks. I will keep that in mind!
Thank you,
Best regards,

Thanks in Advance!!
Fred
Looks similar to Percy, but has a different part number. It seems to mount in a different manner.
Here's the parts page for Thomas: Thomas 6-18741 Parts Listing
Thanks Again John!!

I have the ROLLERS ordered for the THOMAS and James. My next project is to order Rollers and Change the ones on one our CLUB 4-4-2 Scout Steam Engines. From what I'm able to find out, they pretty much use the same Rollers (Collectors) on all the "SCOUT TYPE" Engines. Am I right? The PART NUMBER I came up with is: #6008209165 !! AND are they relatively easy to Change??

I don't know, but you are certainly on a ROLL.
GunrunnerJOHN,
Am I right on this one?

The 8209-165 roller assemblies are snap in. Take a thin screwdriver blade on the underside of the contact strip and lift slightly and it will release the catch and the roller assembly will drop out.
Looks like Chuck has you covered. Those certainly look like the right ones.
Thanks GUYS, I'm set. Will order all three!!
Thanks gain!!
