Need some info on LCCA Goliath

I'm out of town at the moment... But if you look at one of the MTH LCT 2013 tinplate catalogs, you should see the dimensions of the non-LCCA Brutes and showroom cars.  The LCCA versions have the same specs.  As I recall, the showroom cars are a shade over 30" in length... as is the Goliath as well.  Big stuff, for sure!!!

Thanks @Rocky! Okay. So the loco should be 30 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 9 1/2" with ps3 and if the passenger cars are over 30" in length... holy cow.

That's an incredible buy the engine alone is approx. 1600 dollars and only 50 were made

The problem is we never really know what's motivating a seller to unload something like the Goliath w/3 cars at such an absurdly low price.   And not to take anything away from the OP, we technically have no way of "certifying" the sale, unless it's something that we can reference as a closed sale of record on eBay or any other site that tracks sales for the public view.

 

Next thing... We'll have future buyers attempting to convince future sellers, "Well look... the market price for the loco AND cars is now $2K".    At which point, if I were the seller, I'd politely tell the buyer to go pound sand.    One data point does not become a definitive market indicator, but shrewd buyers will play that card in a heartbeat.  It all comes with the turf.

I say 2 people because of the articulation and the weight.  Some have said that their engine was chipped upon arrival.  Anything can happen,but I can see how the articulated ends could swing and hit the other end without even knowing it.  I have never moved my Brute without helping hands and never will.

@David,  I agree and It's also a concern of mine.   I would've paid up to $3k, but since no one was bidding against me, I guess I lucked out in that regard. The seller had this in original shipping box and never opened (so he says), so I'm gambling a bit and HOPE, JUST HOPE it wasn't dropped or damaged, crossing my fingers.
