Neil Young autobiography

I've read one "official" and another biography.  Now there's another? 

My daughter gave me this book for Christmas. It was a good read.

Quite a bit about Lionel trains but vintage autos get by far the most mention. I found the book a very interesting and revealing read; the man is really quite amazing in many, many respects.

I liked it and like you said it is not easy to put down.  The trains were interesting, certainly.  But most liked his narrative and about his early music and the people he met and worked with early on.  In this way it reminded me of Eric Clapton's autobio, with how many people he met when really young that went on to be big.

This one is an autobiography.

He starts this one by saying he quit smoking mother nature and drinking before writing it, so I would guess this one is authorized. I would love to read his unauthorized autobiography but I suspect we are years past that. ;-)

Truly a fascinating man and one whose various pursuits have resonated with me on a number of levels. Not to stray from the 3 ribbons of steel, but one of my top five concert moments (and I have a lot of concerts under my belt) was seeing him solo around 1992 doing Sugar Mountain at an outdoor summer show. That song can make me cry on a good day, but in that setting I darn near saw the ghost of my youth waving from behind ol'Shakey himself.
