RS-1s with EOB speed control?
It looks like Atlas O will not put the Soo Line RS-1 in the catalog until 2013.

Hi Andrew. Sounds like something I would be interested in. How do you know they intend to make a Soo RS if it's not in this announcement?

That was an error on the original announcement. It has since been corrected to note the use of "Cruise Commander" technology. Please check back at the link (and refresh the page if needed) to see the corrected features.
More ATSF Zebra-stripe RS1's. Very tempting. Definitely want another pair of ATSF pulpwood cars.
Usually when something gets dropped like this it's because the manufacturer wanted a premium for the paint scheme. We lost a couple of EL engines from being made because of this awhile back.
I wish Atlas would have revisited the Atlas O #6132 - Zebra Striped Santa Fe EMD SW9 before another RS-1 which is still fairly easy to pick up.
I have been trying to find a Zebra Striped ATSF SW9 for years and can't find one. They are VERY hard to get. When Atlas brought them out it was early in their venture into O and the production numbers were low.
Atlas, if you are watching, please consider another SW9. It is the only scale model of that type of switcher out there.

I don't know how easy it is to get a Zebra-striped RS1. Took five years of eBay watching before the second road number I was after from the first run showed up. But you're right about the SW's in general -- they rarely show up and I've never seen a Zebra-striped unit on eBay.
That RS-1 NYSW Bi-Centennial has been in the catalogs for at least two years now. Are they really going to produce it?
I'm interested in the Long Island RS-1 in Brunswick green which I believe is how they were delivered before they were painted gray and orange.

"IMPROVED RailSounds™ digital sound system"
Any idea what this is?
They are now taking new orders on the RS-1 diesels because the delay in production was so long. Perhaps next month they will take orders again for the TrainMan GE DASH 8 diesel that was also to arrive 18 months ago.
