This version corrects the ability to be able to update theBase3 from the Cab3 app. It also adds a pop up letting you know you’re in Base3 firmware upgrade mode provided that you’ve held on the gear and turned on the base per the instructions. Remember make sure you’re in AP mode and connect it to the base from your smart device.

I tried it out this morning and it worked as expected!

It's definitely available to iOS Apple users, Android may take a little to filter through their system.

As H1000 said and how you'd update any other app, through your respective app store.  Sometimes it takes a little while to filter through their store but its available in the Apple store for sure.  Sometimes depending on your phone settings it will update automatically.

If you are talking about the base updates that's been covered several times and the instructions are at the Lionel P&C website and on the app itself.

I went in like you suggested (Which I already knew) and the CAB3 APP said OPEN, NOT UPDATE.  When I went inand  Opened the BASE PAGE, with the Instructions Everything went smooth.  The BLUE Lights were blinking as said.  BUT, when i tried to go to the APP Nothing happenned.  Could not get into my CAB3 APP anymore. Went back and tried itagain, NOW cant get into the APP with my I Phone anymore. I'm LOCKED out!!!

I have been holding off on the updates, are they incrementally applied or can you jump to the latest and greatest

Let's just take this one step at a time...

What is the latest version of the App on your smart device.  It should read 1.1.47.

I use an iPhone SE. The App store only gave me the "Open" option, no "Update" option. I was able to download the 1.28 Firmware update but could not get the Base3 to update from my phone.  I switched to my PC and followed the Base3 Firmware update instructions on  "control.lionel.com". It worked flawlessly.  Base3 is now running Firmware version 1.28.   I'll just use the PC B3SU firmware update process in the future.  I want to save what little hair on my head I have left.

The Base3 utility is a good way to do it but the App makes it easy for those with MACs and no access to a PC that can connect in AP mode so having the updated App is helpful.  Plus any future App updates with fixes and added functionality will be needed.  I'd figure out why you can't update the app.

Check to see if the latest version is available.  If it is and update will not show up.  Then, uninstall the app and reinstall the app.  You should be good to go, it will load the latest version available.

I was going to do that, but the "Delete App" pop warns all the data will be deleted as well. Since I have pics of everything in my roster, I wasn't sure if all the data inputted into the app would also be deleted.  If not, than I would certainly do that, and I agree 100% with MartyE that using the app is the way to go.

Did you delete then reinstall the Cab3 app on your phone w/o data loss?  Thanks.

Anybody still having CAB3 problems with the direction icon matching the engine, I am intermittently.  Also the speed chevrons are still intermittent.  A couple times I hit slow or med. and the engine did not move but the engine sounds revved up.  Went back to the CAB2 and everything worked fine.  All software is up to date at the train club used android phone and tablet.   Used new Lionel SD45.
