I just finally picked up my new Lionel Legacy #2331180 Strasburg Mogul and something really strange is going on.

First, my layout is TMCC controlled (Yes, the TMCC gray remote, with antenna) and uses the PWC ZW with 4, 180 W bricks. I run 9 other legacy locomotives ranging from the 2018 H10 Consolidation to this one in age, with absolutely no issues with any of them.

So, I wasn't able to program the Mogul's engine ID to 89 as I wanted to, realizing it wouldn't enter program mode regardless of mode switch position (Thinking bad switch or wire off), then I realized the smoke unit as able to be turned on and off with the 8 & 9 buttons on the TMCC remote and the locomotives smoke unit mode switch was in the off position the whole time.

So, I tested the locomotive in conventional mode with no issues, other than the smoke unit staying on with the mode switch turned off. Next I ran the engine in TMCC mode, with the mode switch in the "Program" position, addressing it as both Eng 1 and Eng 99 with full normal functionality, other than the smoke operating with the switch off.

Finally I turned the Bluetooth mode switch to the off position and was again able to run the locomotive with full functionality from the LionChief App with no issues, including starting the engine with TMCC and then hijacking it with the LionChief App(Yes, again the smoke operated form the app, even with the smoke mode switch turned off).

So other than the obvious option of returning it to Lionel for warranty repair, does anyone have any ideas???? While I know nothing can be rules out, I'd find it impossible to believe there are 3 defective mode switches of wires left off all of them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
