I have a few ideas for Lionel to make and add in future catalogs. Some of these would require new tooling, and perhaps Lionel could get (or has bought) the tooling for some of these from MTH.

-Locos:

-ET44AC/ET44C4

-SD70ACe-T4

-SD75M/I

-SD45-2

-GP40/GP40-2 (Similar to GP35 body with different radiators)

-GP50 (Same body as GP35)

-GP60/GP60M/GP60B/GP59

-Vision Line Siemens Chargers

-Vision Line Wabtec Battery-Electric Locomotive

-Grand Canyon RR #4960 2-8-2 Mikado

-Grand Canyon RR Alco FPA-4 A-A Set/Superbass B-Unit

-SD7/SD9

-Rolling Stock:

-Grand Canyon RR F40PHs and Matching Passenger Cars

-Vision Modern Freight Cars (Ethanol Tank Cars, Modern Box Cars, etc.)

-ATSF Super Chief Cars

-Amtrak Superliner Cars

-ATSF El Capitan Set

-Matching Passenger Sets for Siemens Chargers

While not "new" as in terms of tooling, I personally would like a re-issue of the following with LC2.0+

- British North Pole Central Steam Engines
My only request is that the green, #2 engine does not have the smokebox painted red, but rather have it green like the rest of the engine.

- The Lionel Victorian Christmas Set

- Albert Hall Set

- The R27 and R30 sets

-The ex-K-line, 18" Circus cars

Legacy Pennsylvania Railroad Altoona Works Locomotive Test Plant

  • Dynamometer rollers with load simulation
  • Cutaway view so locomotive can be seen inside the plant
  • Remote drawbar pull indicator (switchable scaled horsepower and pound force)
  • Factory/Shop Environmental RailSounds (metal hammers, chatter, etc.)

That sounds cool, but I’d hate to see the price tag.

How about

-CN Festival Express set with streaming/recording in the passenger coaches (eg. Uncle John's Band, Six Days on the Road, etc)

-streaming/recording  for the Chapel car (eg. church organ, Bringing in the Sheep, etc)

-Lionelstore Personalized rolling stock with customer's own graffiti tag

-Ford and Chevy cabooses

-Alco, Baldwin, Lima plant work trains

sign me up!

I would like MORE POLAR RAILROAD freight cars and engines, and caboose cars.  Not POLAR EXPRESS freight cars etc!  I find the new Lionel in many ways has totally forgotten their past.  Example, we used to have cabooses that talked in synch with the engine.  Talk about stereo sound, they were really what awesome was all about.
