MTH handed out the new catalog at last nights DCS users meeting. There was a good crowd.

Sadly, the catalog is all re-runs,lots of RK engines and cars w/fantasy graphics.Again,Nothing that interested me this time around.Andy has promised some exciting products (PS3 upgrade kits, new DCS hardware, operating cars, improved multi channel sound in locos) in 2013 and the return of Premier steam in 2013 V1 and newly tooled steam by 2013 V2.

OK-I'm at work and left my catalog in my hotel room, will be back at York late this afternoon.

What I recall...

There is an Ohio Central geep and a Wabash,Virginian and Jersey Central FM(Olive/cream stripes). MTH is looking for input in what we as DCS operators want in a upgraded handheld and additional features. The new hardware WILL BE back compatible with all the PS2/PS3 locos ever manufactured. The operating cars will be based on technology from the Coor's silver bullet set which Andy said was the best selling MTH set of all time.

Railking steam I recall is Imperial S2 Turbines,ATSF 4-8-4 in SF and usual fantasy paint jobs,RK Imperial Big Boy's and Big Boy Sets.

Really, the catalog as a whole is unremarkable...but wait...

As I mentioned before ... Return of Premier steam in 2013 Vol 1 these will be offerings using extant tooling and by 2013 V2 should see newly tooled Premier steam.

Andy mentioned that the runaway success of the HO and European lines is providing $$'s for the O gauge line and we'll see lots of exciting things to come.

PS3 upgrade kits sound like something to look forward to in that catalog.  I wonder if the PS3 kits would be priced similar (or possibly lower) to the PS2 kit.

I would also like to see MTH start to make an effort to use LED's in their passenger car offerings instead of the current incandescent bulbs.  Diesels with bi-color LED class/marker lights, like those that K-Line offered years ago also would be a plus.

IF PS3 still uses a tach reader ERR will still see all my business.
I do wish now that Lionel owns ERR they'd let them put railsounds 5.0 in the boards.

Once more, the folks who attend York are favored by MTH to see the catalog first.  I got their newsletter stating that the dealers would have it for customer's to see by today.  However, my nearest dealer is a 50 mile round trip for me so I won't be going.  I'm not in that big of a hurry.  I used to get their catalogs on the mailing list but did not get one last year.  Maybe they took me off the list.  Whatever?

That is the name I gave my railroad, since my favorite roads are C&O, Pere Marquette, Hocking Valley, and Lionel Lines.

LOL...but that is the same photo I have always used.  I guess it is just clearer on the new forum.  It's an OSU hat.  I'd never wear a Braves hat...I still haven't recovered from the 1995 World Series

Can someone post a list please? There's more to the O Gauge world that Ohio Central. Any Milwaukee Road, Northern Pacific, BN, Nickel Plate, Rio Grande, Southern, Santa Fe, NYC, GTW, etc...

This is appalling...this is the first York that the contents of the catalog arn't showing up on the forum. Even the CIA can't keep secets like that!

Can someone post a list please?

Re-runs?!? Boomer some of us fans of the Milwaukee Road, Northern Pacific and Montana Rail Link have been waiting for stuff not even made. If they make a MRL Centerflow, or Waffle box I'll be beyond happy. But there are many people in the O gauge world wanting to see their favorite line made.

I feel your pain Ray, When I was in Palmdale CA it was 60 miles one way to Keck's. So hear I am detailed to DC. Guess what the local guy charges,  7.00 bucks for a copy and there is none to look at, you got to buy them. I can not find a decent train store in this area. If anyone knows of a good O gauge store in the D.C Northern Virginia area please let me know. Please.

I'm just curious, who charges for the catalog?

Depending on where in northern VA you are, Catoctin Mtn Trains in Thurmont (up US 15) is about as good of a store if you're going to find. Its about an hour from leesburg (depending on traffic and your interpretation of the speed limit on route 15).

The 2 more local stores I know of are good for picking up odds and ends that you need ASAP, assuming they're in stock.

More on the specific topic of this thread, I too am surprised. Usually by now there's an itemized list of at least the big ticket items. Its either really ho-hum, or they're having one heck of a party up there.
