Lately all I have been doing is one of a kind unusual items. I have about three or four more unique projects coming up.

That is good. We have Blakeslee here in CT and their trucks are always on I 95 with the concrete beams. Never saw the plant in operation which must be interesting.

I did a job with Blakeslee in Bridgeport a number of years ago at the Power Plant. They poured some concrete in place for us on the job.

Here is the latest progress on the model. There is a lot of detail parts I am making from pictures I took of the real machine.

One picture shows the hydraulic lines running up the column and the other shows the winch parts being constructed from a picture. I also plan to use some brake and other parts from past tank car models that I have constructed.

I am posting a few more progress pictures on the lift. I figured out the tires and connections to the frame. The tires are from a jeep model I bought at Hobby Lobby. The height and width were correct for the 1/4 scale 60 inch diameter by 18" wide tires. I am also using black styrene for the parts connecting the tires that will be painted black. These items will be glued with CA glue after the model is painted.

The travel lift is starting to take shape. I have completed the cab, motor and wheel assemblies. Here are some pictures.

Really fine work, Al! You never cease to impress me. Did you scratch build the roller trollies (I guess that what you'd call them...)? They look like commercial parts.

The wheels were purchased at Hobby Lobby. I found a toy jeep and measured the tires and they worked.

The progress has been slow on this project. I have been trying to match the parts exactly and it takes a lot of time. Here are some pictures of the cab, motor and all the hydraulic lines that are on one of these travel lifts.

I will be starting the crane lifting components.next. Once that is completed, I will be able to paint the main structure and start assembly.

That was really a great looking build!     I love it.     You could even use it in a rebar manufactoring or distribution yard.
