So, about two or so years ago, I picked up a JLC Legacy #4014 from a Forum Member, NIB. Loco arrived intact and otherwise....Mint.
The only problem is that the smoke unit never really worked. So, I'm finally getting around to replacing it....or paying someone to do so.
What options do I have? I think the factory part is out of stock....but I could be wrong. (It's from 2008.)
Does Lionel sell a new part that would be a direct replacement? Don't think so...but I could be wrong...again.
Am I better off with a Chuffer or Super Chuffer from Gun Runner John? Those bad boys really put out some smoke. That said, I want the unit to run and sound exactly like it came from the Factory....other than improved smoke output. This is the direction I'm leaning towards but I haven't had a chance to contact John directly yet.
Any pre-Super Bowl thoughts/suggestions?
Hope everyone is staying healthy!
