Hi all, just found this site and joined. Couldn't really find any category for introductions, hope this one is ok. I'm 44 and live in northwest Ohio, been collecting Lionel trains since 1992, more of a closet collector, I don't have space for a permanent layout, so I occasionally purchase items, and they go in the closet till I get space to make a permanent layout. With any luck I'm adding a second story on over my attached garage, that will give me about 19X26 for an around the walls layout with a few peninsulas. I'm currently not working, due to an unsuccessful back surgery this past june, I was employed by a major railroad in the engineering department, maintenance of way specifically. I really miss it, loved the job, and the challenges it presented at times, and definitely changed how I thought about model railroading once I got hands on experience.
My other hobbies are woodworking, and collecting and restoring classic arcade games from the early 80's. Here's a side project I've been working on in my spare time, I found a blueprint for the hell gate bridge, and started vectoring it for cnc cutting, I have a 96X48 shopbot cnc machine in my garage. I scaled the actual bridge to 6 feet. I still have to do the design work on the bottom, the towers, and the side rails on the main bridge. thought you guys might like to see it. Hope to be an active member here, this site looks really great for technical questions, and see a lot of helpful people here. thanks, Brett
