My wife got me a new Vision Line Big Boy for Christmas.  I don’t have Legacy controls so I am trying to run using Bluetooth.  The engine connects and all features on the app work.  The cab is blinking a code for motor stalled and it won’t move.  I tried turning it off several times and same error.

Once again…….even if you can fix it….send it back for the money you should not have to fix anything…….just terrible.

i can’t wait for a few years from now when these die-cast, behemoths start to dissolve.

this is always possible with these China made zinc die cast models. Only time will tell. and if it does then it’s a total loss.

What does any of that bring to the discussion…….besides nothing!!..

I wish you the best luck.  Better than mine I hope.   My new BB showed up making grinding/squealing noise.  It went back to Lionel, and then back to me.   It worked great for a week.  I only ran 3 or 4 times during that week for less than 5 minutes each time.  Seemed to be OK after the trip back and repair.  Now, yesterday I ran it and it makes an internal short on it own right after power up.  You hear the shorting sound/buzzing/sparking type sound and the ZW red light immediately comes on and I immediately turn it off.  It has to be some internal short of some kind.  I took it off the track and ran another engine on the track with no problems at all.  It is definitely inside the BB.  Train is just a couple months old and it's going to have to go back to Lionel a SECOND time.   This sucks.

While I agree this is getting old with the U FiX it engines for 2 grand and better. My fear is the way modern dicast trucks and car ends have been dissolving how long until one of these big engines suffers the same fate?

Then stop buying the stuff, and go brass……saying you can’t wait for the die cast models to dissolve, AGAIN, brings zero to the conversation pertinent about the discussion. So instead of a useful diagnostic tool, which the thread can be, it’s bloated with whiny comments such as yours. Not too long ago, you made a post about repairing something, ( I can’t remember exactly what ) it was informative, direct, & useful. Sooooooo, why clutter up this thread?

Pat, you are correct he brought nothing. After reading his post I just got very upset here a woman bought her husband a very expensive Christmas gift. Only they have it be a total dud. Then have to find out on an online forum this is a known defect. I will say this it is amazing on how in this hobby in this scale the answer always is go buy something else. How many people buys these things have a major issue and never come back never complain just go into another scale or get out of the Hobby altogether?

quality takes five minutes to ensure and a lifetime to enjoy

Enough already!!!  Some folks have a knack at finding ways to get off track.  Hijacking threads to turn them into a different discussion is getting worse on this forum and I assure you that those folks that continue to do so are going to find a new home.  "Ricko" early in the thread pinpointed the problem and the OP using that info was able to fix his locomotive.  Granted, we should not have to do these things however we live in this reality.  You either return your defective item for a refund, return it to the manufacturer for repair, or repair it yourself.  Topic closed.
