" Nick Ladd Nick Ladd line one"
Scott,
Thanks for posting this, a very serious member of our hobby and great K-line employee, in fact many like myself think of him as the K-line man, may God hold him in the Palm of his great hands forever, and may his family find peace during this trying time.
Nick Ladd, line one!
PCRR/Dave
Been a few years since I last saw him. A very nice gentleman, tireless K-Line employee, and a great promoter of the hobby.
Scary...having lived through an era...K-line come and gone, Williams and Weaver come and gone...didn't he used to give the K-Line pitches in the Strasburg TCA HQ? Makes me feel old.
My deepest condolences to Nick's family.
Joe, that is not a picture of Nick Ladd
My prayers to his family. He was a gentleman in this hobby.
I am sorry to hear that he has passed. I met him at York and he was a super nice guy. Our prayers will be with his family and friends. Thanks for posting....
So sorry to hear about Nick's passing. He truly was one of our leading citizens of this hobby. Many of us remember him during his involvement with K-Line. he was responsible for most of the good decisions that the company made during those years, including their really nice, scale stuff. Always enjoyed talking to him at York. He will be missed.

Very sad news. I am very sorry to hear members passing.
A great guy and a real train lover. Met him at York and the Fort Washington shows. The hobby has suffered a loss.
Definitely very sad news! One of the hobby's good guys, and he will be long remembered.
So Sorry to hear this Mr. Ladd was a fixture for K-Line. I remember seeing him at all the K-Line open houses at Toyfair. and I remember him with Lionel for the short time Lionel was marketing K-Line. He was a nice man and a credit to the hobby.
Nick was also a great supporter oh the TCA Kids Club. One year ,thru his effort, each member got a boxcar "no charge" . My son has owned his proudly for many years and has just passed t on to my first grandchild.
May he rest in peace.
Brad
So sorry. We had a nice chat at the Cherry Hill TCA convention.

Very sad to hear of his passing. Nick was a fixture in the TCA Atlantic Division portable layout group when I lived in Philly in 83-85. A nice fellow to talk to at York.
May he rest in peace and condolences to his family.
Peter
Rest in peace
I remember meeting Nick Ladd in Delran, NJ years ago at an M&G Hobbies K-Line Superstore event. He had an interesting local history. Worked at John Wanamaker's in Philadelphia working with the trains - of course. He was responsible for the creation of Lionel Wanamaker's boxcar. He also lived for a time in Moorestown, NJ - probably while he was working at Wanamaker's. Fairly sure he left Wanamaker's after they were sold to the parent of Macy's. Think it was about that time he started his relationship with K-Line.
He was a really nice guy. He will be missed by the many that knew him.
Fred
Thank you Nick Ladd for all the good things you brought to the hobby.
KCC - K-Line Collectors Club comes to mind first.
"A Hudson for Everyone" with the K-Line Scale Hudsons. (I recall buying one from Nick!)
Super Streets
K-Line Scale Steamers
K-Line Super Stores
The list goes on.
Nick will be remembered fondly for a long time. That's a measure of a successful stint on this planet.
We'll all miss Nick Ladd. How many of you know that he was quite familiar with Biller Bahn. Indeed,
I managed to purchase some Biller Bahn from him, and I still have the set.

Very sad to hear of Nick's passing. I've never met him unfortunately, but I was well aware of the significant contributions he made during his years with K-Line, and those contributions definitely left a mark in the hobby as a whole.
My condolences go out to his family in their time of loss.
Bless him and his loved ones.
Nick Ladd one of the true greats. The hobby suffered a huge loss. Many condolences to his family. Rest in Peace..
Very sorry to hear about the death of Nick Ladd. I will always remember talking to Nick at all of the TCA meets when he was with K-Line and I think he had a lot to do with the success of K-Line and for helping to make our hobby the best it could be. A really good guy. Peace be with his family at this sad time.
I am sorry that another Great Person has passed on. I remember Mr. Ladd at the New York Toy Fair and, of course, at the York TCA Meets. The world has become a smaller place with his passing, but for those of us who remember him, he was one of the giants in the World Of Model Trains. Peace to his family.
With All the great comments, can these emails to sent to his family? They are a fitting tribute to a great human being who really enhanced the hobby. He put people first - can't say that about alot of people.
I'm saddened to hear of Nick's passing.
While he was president of the TCA back in 1989-1990, Nick championed my joining after my application was caught-up in red tape at the local level. I'll never forget it -- the letter he wrote on my behalf was on fire!
In later years, when we were both part of the business side of the hobby, it was always fun sharing the occasional "inside" story.
Rest easy, my friend!

So sorry to hear this. Nick was a wealth of K Line information and had been on my " short list" for Notch 6 for some time. I wish I would have reached out to him this year when he crossed my mind. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Deepest condolences to the family and friends.
I will always remember that, about 10-12 years ago, when my son was 10 or 11, Nick sat down next to us as we were lunching at the York train meet. Nick had bought his lunch and was looking for a place to sit. As we all ate, he was curious to learn what my son liked, or didn't like, about O gauge trains and kindly answered various questions that I had on certain K-Line products. He lent a great deal of credibility to the K-Line operation. Condolences to the Ladd family.
So sorry to hear about Nick's passing. He was truly a gentleman and did much to help promote the growth of the hobby at a time when it appeared to be faltering. Deepest condolences to his family.
I do remember meeting Nick at a K-Line Super Store, and my layout is 100% Shadow Rail, due do the Super Store and Nick making sure that us Shadow Rail guys got our track.
Thanks you Nick. R.I.P., your family should be proud of what you did for model railroading, in O Gauge 3-Rail.
