So sorry to hear about Nick's passing.  He truly was one of our leading citizens of this hobby.  Many of us remember him during his involvement with K-Line.  he was responsible for most of the good decisions that the company made during those years, including their really nice, scale stuff.  Always enjoyed talking to him at York.  He will be missed.

I remember meeting Nick Ladd in Delran, NJ years ago at an M&G Hobbies K-Line Superstore event.  He had an interesting local history.  Worked at John Wanamaker's in Philadelphia working with the trains - of course. He was responsible for the creation of Lionel Wanamaker's boxcar.  He also lived for a time in Moorestown, NJ - probably while he was working at Wanamaker's.  Fairly sure he left Wanamaker's after they were sold to the parent of Macy's.  Think it was about that time he started his relationship with K-Line.

He was a really nice guy.  He will be missed by the many that knew him.

Thank you Nick Ladd for all the good things you brought to the hobby.

KCC - K-Line Collectors Club comes to mind first.

"A Hudson for Everyone" with the K-Line Scale Hudsons. (I recall buying one from Nick!)

Super Streets

K-Line Scale Steamers

K-Line Super Stores

The list goes on.

Nick will be remembered fondly for a long time.  That's a measure of a successful stint on this planet.

I'm saddened to hear of Nick's passing.

While he was president of the TCA back in 1989-1990, Nick championed my joining after my application was caught-up in red tape at the local level. I'll never forget it -- the letter he wrote on my behalf was on fire!

In later years, when we were both part of the business side of the hobby, it was always fun sharing the occasional "inside" story.

Rest easy, my friend!

I will always remember that, about 10-12 years ago, when my son was 10 or 11, Nick sat down next to us as we were lunching at the York train meet.   Nick had bought his lunch and was looking for a place to sit.   As we all ate, he was curious to learn what my son liked, or didn't like, about O gauge trains and kindly answered various questions that I had on certain K-Line products.  He lent a great deal of credibility to the K-Line operation.  Condolences to the Ladd family.

I do remember meeting Nick at a K-Line Super Store, and my layout is 100% Shadow Rail, due do the Super Store and Nick making sure that us Shadow Rail guys got our track.

Thanks you Nick. R.I.P., your family should be proud of what you did for model railroading, in O Gauge 3-Rail.
