Cross Harbor did have an N5 caboose, although mostly used as an outbuilding. You can see some pictures of it (and New York Cross Harbors full history) here:

Thanks for that link, Chris… very informative. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and passed the Brooklyn Army and Bush Terminals countless times on trip’s/commutes into Manhattan in the 70’s - 90’s. I still vote for a caboose (definitely in better condition!!!).
