Does anybody know where I can get a replacement pump for the 6-14086 #38 Water Tower. Went to Lionel and they showed the part was unavailable. Took the motor apart , no signs of clogging from sugar build up cleaned it up but still does not work.

Do a search on the bay. There's a guy who makes a replacement pump for them. It comes either in a kit with other usable parts or alone it's only about 20 bucks too
There are guys I know in Westchester County, NY that can fix these pumps.
When I bought my post war #38 at a train show 10 years ago, I was told that the pump did not work. I bought it at a discount and paid a little money to a guy who was able to fix it. It is a terrific, entertaining and unique accessory.
I see from your profile that you live in Virginia. Rather than do business with one of my contacts in NY, I would recommend that you try to find someone local to fix your water pump. Maybe someone on this Forum knows such a repair person.
Another option is to replace the pump as recommended in the above reply.
Thanks E-Unit-79 and Arnold...Have scanned e-bay with no luck and I am scanning the internet for various Lionel parts suppliers. Also sent note to Lionel Tech support to see if there is a work around solution to that specific pump.
