Have a Priemer 4-8-4. Up until yesterday ran excellent. During last session the chuffing sound stopped and simultaneously it sped up to top speed, racing out of control.
i have since attempted a factory reset (2) to no avail.
it starts up fine with all sounds available with the exception of chuffing.

Tach reader failed.
Could the wires from the tach reader thru the tether have come loose?
Yes, It could be a failed wire in the tether or between the tach reader and tether, bad tach reader, bad flywheel tape, or the speed control amp. G

The guys gave you all that it could be. Not uncommon. You will find the problem using what the guys stated as a guide.
